Galt Preserve Closes to the Public During Construction

There is a lot going on at Galt Preserve.
A contractor is currently onsite creating the trails and amenities for the public entrance off Stringfellow Road.  During this process the preserve will remain closed to the public due to safety concerns.  Construction is expected to take approximately one year.

Guided nature walks are provided by Conservation 20/20 volunteers on Saturdays during the winter season, between December - March.  Parking is free and no fee or registration is required.  View the C20/20 Guided Nature Walks flyer for additional information.

Thursday (11/20/14):
Telegraph Creek Preserve - 84 acre burn unit 
Conservation 20/20 staff will be conducting a prescribed fire at Telegraph Creek Preserve on Thursday, November 20th, 2014.  The vast palmetto prairie on this site requires a burn every 2-4 years for maintenance. Telegraph Creek Preserve is located north of  North River Road in Western Alva.
Please remember, there may be residual smoke for up to a week in the immediate area...
